People pour plastics into oceans like there's no tomorrow. It comes up to more than eight million tons in a year. There's probably no trick or a single solution that could resolve the situation, which we as humans got into, with a snap of a finger. We can fight the big battle with smaller steps though. Such example is the result of the collaboration between adidas and Parley For The Oceans - sneakers that are made from plastic bottles pulled out from the sea. Each pair of adidas x Parley is made of more than ten plastic bottles, which is definitely better than leaving the bottles to decompose at the bottom of the ocean for centuries ...

Rubber
is used for products that are made using more environmently-friendly proceses which uses less water, energy and chemicals. Products with international certifications such as bluesign®, the 100 standard by OEKO-TEX® and MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® are placed under this label.
Products with this label are made mostly of recycled materials mostly made from old waste such as plastic bottles and clothes. These products has smaller environmental footprint thanks to processing more waste materials than virgin materials.
Is a material created from upcycled plastic waste that was intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before reaching the ocean. Parley for the Oceans works with partners to collect, sort and transport the recovered raw material (mainly PET bottles) to the adidas supplier who produces the yarn, which is legally trademarked. It is used as a replacement for virgin plastic in the making of adidas x Parley collection of high-performance sportswear.
