Dime is a Canadian skateboarding company founded in 2005 and based in Montreal. Since its inception, Dime has evolved from a small group of friends to one of the leading skate brands in the world. It is known for its humorous skate videos, running a skate shop, creating clothing and accessory collections, and most importantly, hosting the Dime Glory Challenge - unique skate competitions that focus on fun and entertainment rather than the traditional competition format. All of this underlines their motto "humour first, skating second". Known for being clean and fun, Dime is fully committed to supporting the skateboard subculture, but also has a wide reach and appeal. The brand is considered simple, easy to understand, unpretentious, yet pioneering and unique. In a competitive environment of skate brands, this says a lot about their status. The founders of Dime are Antoine Asselin, Philippe Lavoie, Bob Lasalle, Hugo Balek, Charles Rivard, Eric Riedl and Alexis Lacroix. Vincent Tsang later joined as artistic director and head of marketing. The primary goal was to create great skate videos showing Montreal spots, but soon Dime became a phenomenon known outside the skate community thanks to personalities like Virgil Abloh, Kaytranada and Lily Rose Depp.
