Reebok’s new silhouette Classic Legacy is a take on the iconic style of the 70’s, reworked for the 21st century. With it, the brand has one idea to share with the rest of the world – every one of us is writing a story that should be passed down. For the Reebok Classic Leather Legacy campaign, Reebok teamed up with select individuals from around the world so they can share their story, while we enlisted a couple of people from the Czech Republic to follow suit.
The Classic Leather Legacy sneakers are inspired by running shoes designs from the brink of the 70’s and 80’s. They resemble the aesthetic of the Aztec model, introduced in 1979 and the athletic elements of the Classic Leather model from 1983. Thanks to the creativity of Reebok’s product team, they combine the original values of the sporting brand with a new design, current values, artistic creativity while remaining high-quality.

The #WriteYourLegacycampaign presents the legacies people leave after themselves. Reebok asked several artists to tell their story with the help of sneakers and talent. Faces of the campaign include French photographer Achille Laplante, London-based motion designer Chloe Karayiannis, illustrator Jade Pearl and painter Davo Howarth.

As a kid i often visited my grandparents during the holidays. They had a huge garden where I could collect fruit and vegetables. These memories became my inspiration for my work with Reebok Classic Legacy.

Footshop enlisted the help of several people from the Czech republic to show us their legacies – dancer Jakub Dvořák, musician Porty and Youtuber/aspiring floorball player Kristýna Straková.

Dance has been a part of my life since I was four years old. Over the years, its priority went higher and higher. At the beginning, I didn’t think I could make a living by dancing. Today, I know it’s possible. Dance is an irremovable part of my everyday life and I’m immensely grateful for it. To me, it’s a way of expressing myself in another way then with words and convey my emotions towards the audience. I hope I keep gaining experience and afterwards, pass it on to the next generation. Dance, it’s great!

I’ve known I want to make music since I found my favourite artists and songs. I do it purely for myself, to feel good and to be happy. I’ll keep making music until I’m convinced that I don’t enjoy it anymore! If there are people that enjoy my music or benefit from it in any way, I’m all the more happier. That boosts my drive to make music for them. Music is the meaning of my life. I know it’s a cliché, but it’s true.

Floorball means a lot of things to me, but it’s mainly the great friends I can rely on at all times. We have to trust each other on the field too, and that’s what it’s all about. I play for fun, and if there’s a prize on the table too, then it makes for a beautiful and unforgettable feeling.

REEBOK CLASSIC LEGACY X PLEASURES
Not long after the silhouette was first introduced, the first collaboration also appeared, with the Californian brand PLEASURES. The colorway comes in sandy tones typical for the desert. Inspiration was also found in the Joshua Tree National Park.

According to Alex James, co-founder of PLEASURES, the redesigned Classic Leather silhouette is a work of art in and of itself.
“I remember wearing Classic Leather like everybody else when I was growing up. With our version of the sneaker, we wanted to show our love for California, the desert, and specifically the Joshua Tree National Park. After getting the impulse from this unbelievable landscape, we found the perfect vibe with a palette inspired by stucco colors.”
