The fusion of retro and modern elements isn’t a novel idea in the world of sneakers. The biggest players on the field re-release sneakers like clockwork, but often you look at the result and can’t help thinking: “Was this really necessary?” This is definitely not the case with the first ever sneaker to have a visible Air Sole, which is celebrating its 30th birthday with the release of two OG colorways.
I didn’t want the previous paragraph to sound sour towards other projects based on the same concept. But when you look at Nike’s way of reviving older sneakers, it always just makes sense. It’s not just along the lines of “It worked last time, let’s do it again.”
The Nike Air Structures were released as the first model from the 1991Triax series. After that, they were re-released at the end of the 2000’s, and now they’re back in the spotlight. OG colorways, the OG appearance and small edits make the silhouette a formidable opponent in today’s fight for the most comfort.
On the photos, shot by @1000sneakers, you can see both OG colorways, with gold and dark blue detailing.
You can find both of these models, along with an exclusive womens variant, online at Footshop.
