From a long term perspective, Asics is dedicated to creating sneakers that combine elegance with history and research. The Gel-Lyte III silhouette belongs to the upper echelon of sneakers, and despite celebrating its 30th birthday last year, both new and OG colorways still get regularly released – right now, for example.
Even 30 years ago, the GL3’s were ahead of their time, but the ideal time to step out of the “running sneaker” box and transfer to the fashion segment apparently came now.
The two newest Gel-Lyte III colorways rounded up the total number of the models on Footshop to an even twenty. If, in the past, you objected to the often crazy color combinations, this time, you’re in luck, as the silhouette got a treatment of much cleaner and simpler paint jobs, combining primarily black and white.

Apart from the general releases, you can find the Asics GL3 in a couple limited collaborations, for example the one with CDG is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated models as far as last year’s collaborations are concerned. Also, you can still grab the collaboration with END., or the legendary magazine Sneaker Freaker.
